A fantastic evening was had by all at Elizabethan Lodge 400th meeting. More than 20 guests and visitors from all over Somerset and South Gloucestershire joined our members in welcoming new brother Andy Hunt into the order. They were then royally entertained at the now famous Elizabethan festive board. Brother Andy not only had the Entered Apprentice song sung to him by W Bro Roger Penny, but also during the response to W Bro Paul Mallon’s welcoming toast to the visitors, W Bro Tony Dolman delivered an incredibly moving rendition of the poem ” I heard three knocks” ending by presenting the candidate with a personal framed copy of the First Degree Charge. The evenings entertainment concluded with a full 20 minutes of wonderfully delivered funny stories and anecdotes by W Bro Steve “Jethro” Williams which reduced his audience to tears of laughter. An absolute corker of an evening to bring our season to a close. Just a few visits planned to various lodges now to keep our newer members active and learning more about Freemasonry. Charity. Fraternity and Fun
